EHF's 9th Annual Wellness & Lifestyle Promotion Event

The Environmental Health Foundation (EHF) will be staging its 9th annual “Wellness & Lifestyle Promotion” on April 15-18, 2013, under the theme: “Wellness: It Can Be Done!” This promotion forms part of our national drive to bring widespread attention to the importance of healthy and positive lifestyles at the individual level, which will in turn help to make a healthier nation. We believe that with the many challenges faced by the health sector; particularly the high costs associated with treating non-communicable diseases – most of which are preventable by adopting a healthy lifestyle – our wellness thrust continues to be not only relevant, but necessary at this time.

Since the Promotion started in 2005, thousands of lives have been positively impacted by the information, tools and techniques disseminated on wellness and healthy lifestyles through seminars, workshops and lectures. From these events, Jamaicans from diverse backgrounds have been empowered with the requisite knowledge to improve not only the quality of their lives, but that of their families as well.

This year our promotion will feature nutrition and fitness workshops, a school’s wellness seminar and health quiz, as well as our Grand Wellness & Lifestyle Awards Ceremony & Dinner, which forms an important part of our annual promotion, as it honours organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to wellness in Jamaica.
