Undoubtedly, a lot has been done through the Environmental Health Foundation and our hard work has not gone unnoticed!!
We were recently awarded for outstanding volunteerism. We won 1st place in the category Non-Profit Organization for Outstanding Volunteerism by the Council of Voluntary Social Services at the CVSS' Hall of Fame Volunteer Awards Ceremony held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
In a bid to facilitate sustainable community development, EHF mobilizes community members and encourages them to volunteer their time and energy in contributing to the implementation and monitoring of project activities; undertaking roles such as community mobilizers, energy wardens, environmental wardens and data gatherers.
In addition to engaging community members in volunteering, our staff members are encouraged to volunteer in various initiatives; for example, participating in the Jamaica Environmental Trust's annual beach clean-up for the past two years.
We live by our mantra: "Enhancing the quality of people's lives''.
