Workshop on “Energy Efficiency, Regularization, Energy Consumption and Safety” to be hosted by Ms. Kelly Tomblin, President and CEO of the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPSCo.) This workshop is a component of the Project titled: “Transforming Lives through Renewable Energy Initiative and Youth Empowerment in Majesty Gardens” with grant funding of US$50,000 from the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF/SGP) and additional co-funding from the Environmental Health Foundation (EHF) – the implementing agency.

The Project’s goal is to reduce the electricity cost of the Saint Andrew Settlement (community hub) by up to 70%; build awareness among community members on the benefits of renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) and train and certify 6 youths from the community in Renewable Energy Technologies.

The workshop will feature:
•Presentations from Kelly Tomblin – CEO, JPSCo and her team.
•Introduction of community volunteers who will serve as Energy Wardens and Data Gathering personnel. These persons will be assisting with the promotion of the project’s objectives to ensure sustainability through continuous educational interventions with the residents.
